A Table for Two
There’s a table for you that sits on the edge, in the clear.
You sit and know the seat.
Out there are the mountains, the valleys,
the highs, the lows,
The bluebird and crows.
At this table, in this chair,
No flies, no bugs, only crisp, warm air.
Beauty captivates, sunshine radiates.
No whiff of fear.
Like a magnet, you are drawn across the table
The beauty that surrounds doesn’t compare, He’s there.
Eyes meet,
His full and deep
Full of mystery, yet entirely clean.
You know at once, this is His table, His place
As Master of the clearing, all goes at His pace.
Waiters come, waiters go,
Food and drink,
Heavy, savory, rich, and light
Eat and eat, never ending delight.
Words are few, but speech so full,
His time and attention tell all.
You breathe it in, drink it deep
And know that with Him, you are complete.
This is the Father’s table…He’s waiting for you.
Come and sit.
