We all have potholes in our life stories, markings of long-ago emotional pain caused by the hurtful words, behaviors of others or perhaps the etchings of shame from decades-old sin. By nature, these potholes are below the surface, so they often go unnoticed, but their existence means that problems are likely to arise. When our personal potholes are left unaddressed, the potential for unforeseen damage is real.
